The Emma Bowen Foundation Application

WHAT'S NEXT IN THE APPLICATION PROCESS?
From September – April, we review the applicant pool based on our partners’ internship requests and hiring timelines.
We will notify applicants about potential opportunities via email. Throughout the recruitment process, our partners review applicants and select candidates who will move forward in their company interview process. Those selected to be interns at a partner company are Emma Bowen Foundation (EBF) Fellows for Summer 2023.
BEING AN EBF FELLOW
Please keep in mind that this program is highly competitive. Each year, we receive a high volume of applications, and we welcome about 150 Fellows to our EBF Fellowship program. Fellows intern at one of our partner companies and receive the support, guidance, and resources from EBF.
If you are selected as an EBF Fellow at a partner company, the partner company who hired you will discuss the start and end dates as well as the company’s pay rate with you. You will begin working anywhere from May to June 2023. Your partner company will delegate the number of hours and duration of your internship, which will be at least eight consecutive weeks and is often more. One of the benefits of our program is that there is the opportunity for multi-summer internships with your placement.
If you have existing obligations this summer, make sure to discuss these with EBF staff members and your partner company if/when you are interviewed. Other commitments (family travel, school trips, work study program, etc.) will have to be conducted before or after your work commitment with your partner company.
Additionally, if you are selected as an EBF Fellow, you will be expected to participate in the following EBF programs:
EBF Summer Conference – our annual event where Fellows network, learn, attend sessions, participate in Career Fair and take their first steps toward a career in the media and technology industries
The Launch Program – a career activation program which prepares Emma Bowen seniors to enter the workforce through group and individual mentoring, interview prep, job search guidance, and more.
You will also be expected to attend various info sessions, workshops and panel discussions led by EBF and our partner companies.
One of the many benefits of becoming an EBF Fellow is that you will have the opportunity to apply for a need-based scholarship that can provide you with essential financial support.
As an intern and Fellow, we expect you to be a self-aware, dependable team player. Accordingly, staying on top of communication with EBF staff and partners is expected of all Fellows to ensure that you are receiving all of the benefits of EBF and assisting EBF in coordinating the program. You will receive a student manual which will further detail policies and expectations.
